News Release from Miles Briggs MSP: Briggs Sponsors Children's Hospice's Across Scotland Event at Holyrood
Miles Briggs, Lothian MSP and the Shadow Health Secretary, will this evening host a reception on behalf of Craiglockhart headquartered Children’s Hospice Across Scotland. The reception, Reaching Every Family in Scotland, will be about the work that CHAS does so that every baby, child and young person in Scotland has access to palliative care. MSPs will be given the chance to meet families across Scotland who are supported by CHAS. The evening will also be an opportunity to discuss the evaluation of the Diana Children’s Nurses Report by Children in Scotland, highlighting the excellent work done by nurses in terms of:
Supporting the families of children who are in care.
Providing leadership in a multi-professional service.
Developing a highly skilled workforce.
Implementation of a strategic framework.
CHAS will also launch their 2017 Christmas Appeal with fun Christmas activities for everyone to enjoy.
Miles Briggs comments:
“This year’s reception is about helping to meet the unmet needs of families in Scotland and is something I have always been passionate about and I know every MSP and the Scottish Government want to see achieved.
“CHAS should be congratulated for already helping to meet the need of 1 in 3 families with children with life-shortening conditions and they have the support of the whole Parliament in taking the next steps towards reaching every child and family who need care, help, love and support.”
“This evening is about saying a huge thank you to everyone who has helped to support the work of CHAS past, present, and most importantly future.
