Briggs welcomes Grange Road Post Office upgrade
Miles Briggs, Scottish Conservative & Unionist MSP for Lothian, is welcoming the news that a busy post office in the Southside of the city is to be upgraded to become one of the Post Office’s new main style branches. The Grange Road Post Office in Salisbury Place will be refurbished and opening hours will be extended, with more evening openings. The branch will close for refurbishment on Thursday 27th April at 5.30pm and reopen as the new main style branch at 1pm on Monday 8th May. During this period local customers requiring Post Office services are being encouraged to use other nearby post offices such as the Newington Post Office in Clerk Street or Blackford Avenue Post Office.
Speaking today Miles Briggs said:
“ The Grange Road Post Office is a popular and well-used facility and I am delighted that it is being upgraded to become a new main Post Office branch as part of the Post Office’s modernisation programme. The longer opening hours will be welcomed by local residents and this upgrade is a boost for the whole community.
“ I wish the Postmaster and the Grange Road Post Office team well with their upgrade and refurbishment and every success in the future as a new main Post Office branch.”
