Briggs to lead team in sponsored walk for St Columba’s Hospice.
Miles Briggs, Lothian Tory MSP, will take part in this year’s “A Walk to Remember” in aid of St Columba’s Hospice on June 17th. Miles has organised a team of MSP staff members to join him in the sponsored walk of 12.5 miles from Balerno to the Shore in Leith. Miles recently visited St Columba’s hospice and saw first-hand the care and support offered to terminally ill patients and their families.
Speaking today Miles, who earlier this year raised over £2000 in a sponsored leg wax for the CHAS charity, said:
“ I am looking forward to joining this year’s ‘A Walk to Remember’ to raise funds for St Columba’s Hospice and I would urge constituents across Lothian to consider registering for the sponsored walk so that as much money as possible is raised for this great cause.
“ St Columba’s Hospice offers world class levels of palliative care and support and has helped many hundreds of people across the area over the past 40 years. It depends on the fundraising efforts of volunteers and local residents and I hope that this year’s ‘A Walk to Remember’ raises a record amount to allow it to continue offering such valuable services to patients with advanced progressive illnesses.”
