Congratulations to Scouts Scotland on 12 Years of Growth
Miles Briggs has today table a congratulatory motion on Scouts Scotland 12 Years of growth.

“Scouts Scotland have gone from strength to strength over the last 12 years.
“It is widely recognised the significant benefits that young people gain from being in the Scouts and part of a team.
“I wish Scouts Scotland continued success in the next 12 years in all of their endeavours.”

That the Parliament congratulates Scouts Scotland on a 12th year of continued growth with membership in Scotland now reaching 51,371; understands that this growth includes more than 500 new volunteers over the last 12 months; applauds the charity work and community-based projects that Scouts across Scotland, including in Lothian, undertake every week in their communities; notes the research conducted by the Scout Association, which found that 70% of volunteers reported having improved life satisfaction with 42% reporting reduced feelings of loneliness since beginning volunteer work; commends the dedication of the volunteers in the vital role that they play in providing young people in the Scouts with amazing opportunities to develop the skills they need for life while also having fun and taking part in outdoor adventure, and wishes Scouts Scotland continued membership growth and success in the future.
