Briggs Commends Asda’s ‘Green Token Giving’ Programme
The Asda Foundation is a charitable company that provides grants to a range of good causes in Scotland.
Each project is nominated by local communities.
Every three months three local projects are selected and shoppers vote for their preferred charity, with the winning project receiving £500 and runners up £200.
Last year the Asda Foundation raised £370,000 for local communities.
Recent winners include Child Brain Injury Trust, Royal National Institute of Blind People and Music in Hospitals Scotland.
Miles Briggs comments:
“The ‘Asda Miles’ is an excellent initiative for improving places to live and work for local communities.
“The ‘Green Token Giving’ programme is a great idea for letting people chose their donations and raising awareness for charities.
“If anyone know of a local project that could benefit from funding please contact your local Asda store manager.”
